Donna Dixon is a certified life coach, and an advocate for helping the church community become educated and trained to effectively come alongside those whose lives have been traumatized by a loved one’s sexual addiction. Donna joins the IACSAS board as a partner advocate.
Her interest in coaching, and lifelong pattern of advocacy, began through her positions as a Hospice Volunteer Director and Hospital Volunteer Manager. In those roles she became a strong voice for volunteers, regardless of age or disability.
While on staff with a national prison ministry she provided training for people interested in participating in outreaches into prisons. Her advocacy on behalf of those incarcerated began while interacting with inmates and their families.
Donna’s advocacy expanded to include those struggling with mental illness following a close relative’s bipolar disorder diagnosis.
Her interest in pursuing certification as a life coach began after her husband’s sexual addiction disclosure. Discovering A Woman’s Healing Journey was a lifeline, one she quickly, and repeatedly, began extending to other partners, as well as those that loved them.
Donna served as a youth and college group leader, women’s director, church board president/member, and Stephen Ministry trainer/leader in the three churches she and her husband of 50 years have called home.
Donna and her husband reside in Austin, Texas with one of two daughters (they also have a son) and two of their five extra-ordinary grandchildren. Donna enjoys reading, traveling, running, cooking, and sunsets – and experiencing joy-filled moments with her husband, family, friends – and those she meets on her journey through life in our incredibly complex, frequently sorrowful, but still astonishingly beautiful world.
Ella Hutchinson, LPC, received her MA in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with extensive training in treating sexual addiction, who works in private practice in Houston, TX. Ella specializes in guiding wives of sex addicts through the healing process. She offers support groups for wives of sex addicts, working from the trauma model for treating spouses. She and her husband, Jeff Hutchinson, CPSAS, also facilitate three-day intensives for couples struggling with the invasion of sex addiction in their marriage.
Ella has been married to her loving and supportive husband for 13 years and has a 12 year old daughter and 17 year old step-son. Other than helping those struggling with the impact sex addiction has had on their lives, Ella recognizes a missing link in the current treatment model for treating couples and wants to help fill in the gaps. She has a passion for educating pastors and clinicians on the prevalence of sex addiction, in and out of the church, as well as how to guide couples in the right direction.
