FAQ

Home / FAQ

Can I count clinical experience while I am obtaining my educational hours provided I am in supervision for certification?

Yes. These hours can apply towards certification.

Will my hours of supervision towards certification also count towards licensure requirement in my state?

This depends on the state and the regulations of your licensing board.  Check with your licensing board for the answer to this question.  IACSAS does not provide supervision for state licensure requirements as these vary from state to state. Licensure supervision must be worked out in accordance with the guidelines of your state.

Can I get a supervisor approved prior to beginning the certification process if the supervisor isn’t listed on the IACSAS web site?

Yes.  Mail a letter to IACSAS, 2299 Perimeter Park Drive, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30341 and include the supervisors vitae, credentials, experience in the field, and contact information.  You will be notified within 30 days of receipt of the letter if this person is approved to be a supervisor.

Can coursework obtained in my masters degree be counted towards certification education hours?

Yes, provided that the coursework fits into one or more of the four core areas of educational requirements.  Documentation such as a course syllabus or university catalogue description of course content will meet this requirement.
