Philosophy

Home / Philosophy

The leadership of the IACSAS is committed to trauma-model therapy from a Christian perspective of sexual addiction and compulsivity. We believe that clinically trained Christian counselors who observe the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct can provide the best available resources for people suffering from sexual addiction and co-addiction.

Our mission is to provide certification for individuals who meet the standards of training and excellence. We are also committed to training and equipping pastors and church leaders to be able to recognize sexual addiction and compulsivity. A level of certification being provided by IACSAS. The need for training opportunities, ongoing education, and research is a part of the mission of IACSAS.

It is the belief of the board that the organization certifying sexual addiction specialists should be an association that is committed solely to the development of the profession.  The board upholds these standards to the best of their ability.  Obtaining a certification means that the minimum requirements outlined on this website have been met.  We cannot monitor the practice of every certified sexual addiction specialist.

Our overall goal is to come alongside of the professional community and the church and provide the best resources possible.
