Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: Beloved, I want you to open your hearts and minds today as we approach a subject often neglected, even dismissed yet deeply serious in the life of the believer. The spiritual theft that occurs when chosen ones indulge in secret sin, particularly the sin of habitual self-gratification. Now listen to me. This is not spoken from condemnation, but from truth. The word of God is clear. Sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death. James 1:15. It doesn’t just kill physically. It kills spiritually. It kills intimacy with God. And if you think demons are passive in this, you are mistaken. They are cunning, calculated, and constantly working to exploit every door of compromise in your life. Today, I want to expose the reality behind this battle. The title is confronting, but it needs to be five things demons steal from chosen ones who masturbate. You get drained. Let’s examine them. One, spiritual authority. When you yield your body to sin, you yield your authority. Romans 6:16 says, « Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey? » Every time you surrender to lust, you surrender territory. Not just emotionally, not just mentally, but spiritually. Demons know when a child of God no longer walks in authority. You may speak the name of Jesus, but your private compromise strips your public power. They stole your roar. And now when you pray, you feel the heavens are brass. Two, discernment. Sin clouds your vision. When your flesh is in control, your spirit gets silent. Galatians 5:17 tells us that the flesh wars against the spirit. It dulls your senses. You can’t distinguish the voice of God from your own desires. And this is intentional because demons cannot mislead you when you are walking in discernment. So they steal it. Your dreams become confusing. You can’t tell a sign from a snare. You start calling conviction condemnation. That is not spiritual maturity. That is deception. Three, purpose and motivation. Let me ask you this. Where did your hunger go? Where did your fire for the Lord go? You used to rise early to pray. You used to weep over scripture, but now you’re tired all the time. You feel spiritually numb. You say you want revival, but you’re stuck in a loop of repentance and relapse. That is not freedom. That is captivity. Demons drain you because they know your purpose threatens their plans. They keep you busy fighting shame so you won’t fight darkness. You can’t build when you’re constantly rebuilding your conscience. Four, identity in Christ. Satan is the accuser and demons love to whisper in your ear. You’re not really saved. You’re filthy. God is tired of you. And when you fall again, you start to believe it. You stop identifying as a son and begin identifying as a slave. But Romans 8:1 declares, « There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. » Listen, the enemy can’t change who you are in Christ, but he will do everything he can to make you forget it. You are chosen. You are called. But when you live in habitual sin, you live as if you’re not. Five, intimacy with God. This is the greatest theft of all. Psalm 24 says, « Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. » That’s not metaphor. That’s divine requirement. Sin builds a wall. You no longer feel close to God. You feel unworthy to worship. Prayer becomes mechanical. The word becomes dry. Why? Because intimacy cannot coexist with impurity. The enemy robs you of your joy in his presence. Not because God leaves, but because your guilt keeps you from drawing near. When a believer willingly yields to sin, especially sexual sin practiced in secret like masturbation, there is a critical loss that takes place. the forfeite of spiritual authority. This is not merely a symbolic loss. It is an actual weakening of one’s position in the spiritual realm. Scripture is not silent about this. Romans 6:16 lays it bare. Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness. This is not ambiguous. When you surrender to sin, you simultaneously forfeit your alignment under the dominion of Christ and place yourself under the influence of the enemy. The authority that comes from being in Christ is not arbitrary. It is tied to submission and obedience. James 4:7 says, « Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. » That resistance is only effective when submission is active. A man or woman who claims to belong to Christ, but lives in secret sin, especially one involving the body, the temple of the Holy Spirit, becomes double-minded and spiritually. They may still quote scripture, they may still attend church, but their prayers lack weight. Their voice in the spirit carries no volume. Why? Because spiritual authority is not determined by activity. It’s determined by purity. Demons are legalists. They understand the laws of God even if we don’t. They know the spiritual implications of compromise. They don’t fear believers because of titles, social media, or external religious behavior. They fear holy vessels. Holiness is not sinless perfection but a set apartness. A life aligned with the spirit crucified to the flesh. When you engage in masturbation, what you are doing fundamentally is using your body which was meant for the glory of God for self-gratification. Paul wrote in reconciliation 6:13, « The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. » He goes further in verse 19. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you whom you have from God? You are not your own. This is ownership language. This is covenant language. The believer who engages in secret sexual sin is actively defiling what is no longer theirs to defile. You cannot have dominion over demons while being in agreement with them. That’s the contradiction. Many believers wonder why their spiritual warfare yields no result. Why their prayers for breakthrough sound hollow, why worship feels dry. It is because the enemy recognizes when you are operating outside of divine authority. It is not that you have lost your salvation. It’s that you’ve lost your standing. That spiritual posture where heaven backs your voice and hell respects your presence. That posture is compromised the moment you become a slave to your flesh. Masturbation is not just a physical act. It is a spiritual transaction. It opens portals in the soul, stirs up lust, fuels fantasy, and often invites the demonic through imagery, imagination, or pornography. And with that open door comes the theft of power. The same individual who once walked in confidence, who prayed with fire, who felt close to God, now prays with guilt, sings with hesitation, and feels distant. This is not coincidental. This is the result of spiritual drainage. When you entertain sin, you quench the spirit. You grieve him. And when he is grieved, your spiritual clarity dims. Your discernment dulls and your authority dissipates. In Acts 19:13-16, we read about the sons of Scava, men who tried to use the name of Jesus to cast out demons. The evil spirit answered them, « Jesus, I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you? » Then the possessed man attacked and overpowered them, « What was missing? Authority. » They use the right name, but lack the right standing. This is what happens when believers speak boldly in public while compromising privately. Demons know who walks in real authority and they know who. When your body is yielded to the flesh, your voice is muted in the spirit. You can scream the name of Jesus, but if you live in habitual sin, that voice carries no governmental power. It’s like a police officer out of uniform. No badge, no backing. The uniform of spiritual authority is righteousness. Not self-righteousness, not legalism, but the righteousness that comes from walking in obedience and repentance. That covering protects, empowers, and commands recognition in the unseen realm. Chosen ones are marked by God. Yes, but they are also targeted by the enemy. Satan doesn’t waste resources on people with no threat to his kingdom. The more purpose on your life, the more aggressive the warfare. And that’s why he tempts you with compromise. He’s not trying to steal your salvation. He’s trying to steal your voice, your dominion, your intercession, your ability to shift atmospheres. If he can keep you bound to shame, he can keep you ineffective in battle. It’s critical to understand that what is being stolen is not visible to the naked eye. You won’t always feel the loss immediately, but over time, you’ll notice the decline. You’ll feel your confidence wayne. Your desire for the word will shrink. Your prayer life will feel forced. Opportunities will dry up. Doors will remain shut. Not because God is punishing you, but because you’ve stepped out from under the authority that opens them. You were designed to rule with Christ. But the enemy has tricked you into ruling with your cravings. When a believer indulges in habitual sin, particularly sins of the flesh like masturbation, their spiritual senses become dullled. One of the primary casualties of such compromise is discernment. the sharp spirit-led ability to distinguish between what is of God and what is of the flesh, between truth and deception, between divine timing and demonic distraction. Discernment is not simply the ability to make wise decisions. It is the spirit’s gift that allows a believer to navigate the unseen realm with clarity, alertness, and alignment to the voice of God. Without it, a believer becomes vulnerable, spiritually blind, easily manipulated, and unable to hear the shepherd with precision. Galatians 5:17 declares, « For the flesh sets its desire against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh, for these are in opposition to one another. » This tension is ongoing and it is sharpened every time a believer chooses the gratification of the body over submission to the spirit. Masturbation is not a neutral act. It trains the mind to follow desire rather than discipline. It rewires the heart to crave pleasure over purity. In doing so, it blurs the lines between what is permissible and what is beneficial. The result is spiritual fog. Where once the believer could clearly hear the Holy Spirit’s prompting, now there’s confusion. Where there was once clarity in decisionmaking, now there is hesitation, doubt, and second-guessing. That is not because God has stopped speaking, it is because sin has turned the volume down. In Hebrews 5:14 speaks of those who have matured, saying, « But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. » Discernment is not automatic. It is trained, refined, and sharpened through obedience. But when a believer gives themselves over to lust, they are not training their senses to know good and evil. They are training their senses to ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Each time they override that inner voice, it gets softer. Eventually, what once pierced the heart now barely moves it. This is how sin numbs discernment. Through repeated disobedience. Demons exploit this. They know that when a believer can’t tell the difference between conviction and condemnation or between a test and a trap, they can easily be manipulated. Discernment is spiritual vision. It is what lets you see through flattery, identify wolves in sheep’s clothing, detect false doctrine, and sense spiritual danger before it arrives. But when a believer is living in secret sin, especially one fueled by fantasy and lust, they lose the edge. They may still be gifted, but they are no longer sensitive. They may still speak in tongues, but they don’t know when the spirit has left the room. This is a dangerous place to be, to look alive on the outside, but be blind on the inside. The devil does not need to destroy you when he can simply deceive you. And that deception often enters through the senses. What you see, what you imagine, what you feel. Sexual sin, particularly in isolation. It teaches the mind to fantasize about unreality. It detaches the person from relational and spiritual awareness. Instead of being watchful and sober minded, as 1 Peter 5’8 commands, the believer becomes dull, sleepy, and unaware of the enemy’s strategies. Satan doesn’t need to knock on the front door when lust leaves the back window open. Over time, this compromised discernment begins to affect every area of life. The believer cannot tell when a relationship is toxic. They misinterpret divine delays as rejections. They chase emotional experiences instead of spiritual depth. They may even call the flesh the spirit, confusing emotional highs with God’s presence. This is how deception creeps in. Not all at once, but gradually as the soul grows accustomed to compromise and resistant to correction. When discernment is dulled, scripture is no longer alive. The word is read without revelation. The spirit speaks, but the heart is not tuned in. A believer in this state begins to rely more on logic than on spiritual insight. They begin to follow what feels right rather than what is right. And eventually, they become more susceptible to counterfeit voices, dreams that are not from God, prophetic words that are mixed with error, counsel that aligns with fleshly desire instead of godly wisdom. All of this stems from one root, the loss of spiritual sharpness through the undisiplined gratification of the body. Masturbation feeds that loss. It is an act that trains the person to disconnect spirit from body, soul from truth. It thrives in secrecy. And secrecy is the perfect breeding ground for deception. You cannot live in darkness and expect to see clearly. The more a believer gives in to hidden sin, the less capable they become of identifying what is truly from the Lord. Their heart becomes divided. And Jesus said in Matthew 6:22, « If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. » That eye speaks of perception. Your ability to see truth. When that is corrupted, the entire inner life is affected. What used to be obvious red flags now seem harmless. What used to trigger conviction now feels justifiable. This is the progressive dulling of discernment. It is not that God has changed. It is that the believer has distanced themselves from his voice through repeated compromise. Discernment cannot thrive in a heart ruled by lust. It cannot coexist with double-mindedness. And the enemy knows that a blind believer is no threat. One of the most devastating consequences of secret sin, particularly sexual sin like masturbation, is the erosion of intimacy with God. This intimacy is not merely about feelings or emotional closeness. It is about a living, vibrant, ongoing communion between the believer and the Holy Spirit. It is about nearness, clarity, and spiritual connection. When that intimacy is compromised, the Christian life becomes dry, mechanical, and hollow. There may still be outward devotion, church attendance, Bible reading, service, but inwardly the fire is gone. The presence of God feels distant, not because he has moved, but because sin builds a wall. Uh Isaiah 59:2 says plainly, « Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear. » This is not a loss of salvation, but a disruption of fellowship. Just as unconfessed sin can damage a human relationship, so too can it obstruct communion with God. The more a believer gives in to private impurity, the more difficult it becomes to enjoy the nearness of God. Prayer becomes difficult. Worship becomes superficial. The word seems closed. It is not that God has withdrawn his love, but that the heart has grown dull and distant through compromise. Sexual sin strikes at the very core of relationship with God because it involves the misuse of what is sacred. The body according to scripture is a temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19. When a believer uses their body for sin, they are desecrating the very place where God dwells. This has profound spiritual consequences. Holiness is not about legalism. It is about alignment. God is holy and he draws near to those who pursue him in purity. Jesus said in Matthew 5’8, « Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. » When the heart is polluted with lust, that sight becomes blurred. What many do not realize is that intimacy with God requires integrity. God desires truth in the inward part. Psalm 51:6. He is not fooled by performance. He sees the hidden life. He sees the late night compromise. He hears the silence that follows sin, the avoidance, the guilt, the shame. And while his mercy is always available, intimacy cannot thrive in a heart that continually chooses the flesh over the spirit. The believer may still call on his name, but the connection feels strained. The closeness they once enjoyed now feels out of reach. Masturbation in particular damages intimacy with God because it turns the heart inward. It teaches the soul to seek self-satisfaction over surrender. It feeds secrecy. It builds patterns of escapism. And over time, those patterns begin to harden the heart. What used to bring joy, quiet time, prayer, the word, now feels tired. The conscience grows numb and the cycle of guilt begins. The believer repents, then relapses, then repents again. And each time the shame runs deeper. This constant cycle does not draw them closer to God. It makes them feel unworthy to approach him. Hebrews 10:22 exhorts us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. But habitual sin corrupts the conscience. It stirs inner accusations. It fosters the lie that God is disappointed, angry, or distant. These lies grow louder the more one indulges in the flesh. And even though God’s grace remains constant, the believer stops believing they are welcome in his presence. They stop running to him and begin hiding from him. This was the pattern from the beginning. A Adam and Eve hid when they sinned. And many believers do the same today, not physically but spiritually. Intimacy with God also depends on the voice of the Holy Spirit. But when sin is present, that voice is grieved. Ephesians 4:30 says, « Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. A grieved spirit is not a silent spirit, but he speaks less. He waits. He convicts, but he does not force. » The believer who continually ignores that conviction will eventually find that voice fading into the background. What once brought immediate correction now goes unchecked. And in that silence, intimacy is lost. Furthermore, intimacy with God requires surrender. It thrives in a heart that longs for his presence more than for personal pleasure. But masturbation trains the soul to pursue quick relief instead of patient abiding. It conditions the body to run to fantasy instead of to the throne. It undermines the very posture required for intimacy, brokenness, humility, and longing. David said in Psalm 27:4, « One thing I have asked of the Lord, that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. » That kind of desire is incompatible with a life of hidden indulgence. Many believers feel this loss but can’t name it. They describe a sense of dryness, distance, or lack of hunger. They assume God has withdrawn or that something is wrong with their spirituality. In truth, it is often unresolved impurity. sin tolerated rather than confessed, habits defended instead of crucified. And until those areas are brought into the light, intimacy remains stifled. The tragedy is that many learn to live without it. They become content with routines, programs, and external activity. But the spirit is not active in noise. He dwells in holy communion. He fills the surrendered vessel. He responds to the hungry heart. But where the heart is divided, intimacy cannot flourish. Where sin is cherished, presence is diminished. .

0.08 Because intimacy cannot coexist with
0.08 impurity. The enemy robs you of your joy
0.08 in his presence. Not because God
0.08 leaves, but because your guilt keeps you
0.08 from drawing near. When a believer
0.08 willingly yields to sin, especially
0.08 sexual sin practiced in secret like
0.08 masturbation, there is a critical loss
0.08 that takes place.
0.08 the forfeite of spiritual
0.08 authority. This is not merely a symbolic
0.08 loss. It is an actual weakening of one&;s
0.08 position in the spiritual
0.08 realm. Scripture is not silent about
0.08 this. Romans 6:16 lays it bare. Do you
0.08 not know that if you present yourselves
0.08 to anyone as obedient slaves, you are
0.08 slaves of the one whom you obey, either
0.08 of sin, which leads to death, or of
0.08 obedience, which leads to righteousness.
0.08 This is not ambiguous. When you
0.08 surrender to sin, you simultaneously
0.08 forfeit your alignment under the
0.08 dominion of Christ and place yourself
0.08 under the influence of the enemy. The
0.08 authority that comes from being in
0.08 Christ is not arbitrary. It is tied to
0.08 submission and obedience. James 4:7
0.08 says, "Submit yourselves therefore to
0.08 God. Resist the devil and he will flee
0.08 from you." That resistance is only
0.08 effective when submission is active. A
0.08 man or woman who claims to belong to
0.08 Christ, but lives in secret sin,
0.08 especially one involving the body, the
0.08 temple of the Holy Spirit, becomes
0.08 double-minded and spiritually. They may
0.08 still quote scripture, they may still
0.08 attend church, but their prayers lack
0.08 weight. Their voice in the spirit
0.08 carries no volume. Why? Because
0.08 spiritual authority is not determined by
0.08 activity. It&;s determined by purity.
0.08 Demons are legalists. They understand
0.08 the laws of God even if we don&;t. They
0.08 know the spiritual implications of
0.08 compromise. They don&;t fear believers
0.08 because of titles, social media, or
0.08 external religious behavior. They fear
0.08 holy vessels.
0.08 Holiness is not sinless perfection but a
0.08 set
0.08 apartness. A life aligned with the
0.08 spirit crucified to the flesh. When you
0.08 engage in masturbation, what you are
0.08 doing fundamentally is using your body
0.08 which was meant for the glory of God for
0.08 self-gratification. Paul wrote in
0.08 reconciliation 6:13, "The body is not
0.08 meant for sexual immorality, but for the
0.08 Lord, and the Lord for the body." He
0.08 goes further in verse 19. Do you not
0.08 know that your body is a temple of the
0.08 Holy Spirit within you whom you have
0.08 from God? You are not your own. This is
0.08 ownership language. This is covenant
0.08 language. The believer who engages in
0.08 secret sexual sin is actively defiling
0.08 what is no longer theirs to defile.
0.08 You cannot have dominion over demons
0.08 while being in agreement with them.
0.08 That&;s the
0.08 contradiction. Many believers wonder why
0.08 their spiritual warfare yields no
0.08 result. Why their prayers for
0.08 breakthrough sound hollow, why worship
0.08 feels dry. It is because the enemy
0.08 recognizes when you are operating
0.08 outside of divine authority.
0.08 It is not that you have lost your
0.08 salvation. It&;s that you&;ve lost your
0.08 standing. That spiritual posture where
0.08 heaven backs your voice and hell
0.08 respects your presence. That posture is
0.08 compromised the moment you become a
0.08 slave to your flesh. Masturbation is not
0.08 just a physical act. It is a spiritual
0.08 transaction. It opens portals in the
0.08 soul, stirs up lust, fuels fantasy, and
0.08 often invites the demonic through
0.08 imagery, imagination, or pornography.
0.08 And with that open door comes the theft
0.08 of power. The same individual who once
0.08 walked in confidence, who prayed with
0.08 fire, who felt close to God, now prays
0.08 with guilt, sings with
0.08 hesitation, and feels distant. This is
0.08 not coincidental. This is the result of
0.08 spiritual drainage. When you entertain
0.08 sin, you quench the
0.08 spirit. You grieve
0.08 him. And when he is grieved, your
0.08 spiritual clarity dims. Your discernment
0.08 dulls and your authority dissipates.
0.08 In Acts
0.08 19:13-16, we read about the sons of
0.08 Scava, men who tried to use the name of
0.08 Jesus to cast out demons. The evil
0.08 spirit answered them, "Jesus, I know,
0.08 and Paul I recognize, but who are you?"
0.08 Then the possessed man attacked and
0.08 overpowered them, "What was missing?
0.08 Authority." They use the right name, but
0.08 lack the right standing. This is what
0.08 happens when believers speak boldly in
0.08 public while compromising privately.
0.08 Demons know who walks in real authority
0.08 and they know who. When your body is
0.08 yielded to the flesh, your voice is
0.08 muted in the spirit. You can scream the
0.08 name of Jesus, but if you live in
0.08 habitual sin, that voice carries no
0.08 governmental power. It&;s like a police
0.08 officer out of uniform. No badge, no
0.08 backing. The uniform of spiritual
0.08 authority is
0.08 righteousness. Not self-righteousness,
0.08 not legalism, but the righteousness that
0.08 comes from walking in obedience and
0.08 repentance. That covering protects,
0.08 empowers, and commands recognition in
0.08 the unseen realm. Chosen ones are marked
0.08 by God. Yes, but they are also targeted
0.08 by the enemy. Satan doesn&;t waste
0.08 resources on people with no threat to
0.08 his
0.08 kingdom. The more purpose on your life,
0.08 the more aggressive the warfare. And
0.08 that&;s why he tempts you with
0.08 compromise. He&;s not trying to steal
0.08 your salvation. He&;s trying to steal
0.08 your voice, your dominion, your
0.08 intercession, your ability to shift
0.08 atmospheres. If he can keep you bound to
0.08 shame, he can keep you ineffective in
0.08 battle. It&;s critical to understand that
0.08 what is being stolen is not visible to
0.08 the naked eye. You won&;t always feel the
0.08 loss immediately, but over
0.08 time, you&;ll notice the decline. You&;ll
0.08 feel your confidence wayne. Your desire
0.08 for the word will shrink. Your prayer
0.08 life will feel forced. Opportunities
0.08 will dry up. Doors will remain
0.08 shut. Not because God is punishing you,
0.08 but because you&;ve stepped out from
0.08 under the authority that opens them. You
0.08 were designed to rule with Christ. But
0.08 the enemy has tricked you into ruling
0.08 with your cravings. When a believer
0.08 indulges in habitual sin, particularly
0.08 sins of the flesh like masturbation,
0.08 their spiritual senses become
0.08 dullled. One of the primary casualties
0.08 of such compromise is
0.08 discernment. the sharp spirit-led
0.08 ability to distinguish between what is
0.08 of God and what is of the flesh, between
0.08 truth and deception, between divine
0.08 timing and demonic distraction.
0.08 Discernment is not simply the ability to
0.08 make wise decisions. It is the spirit&;s
0.08 gift that allows a believer to navigate
0.08 the unseen realm with clarity,
0.08 alertness, and alignment to the voice of
0.08 God. Without it, a believer becomes
0.08 vulnerable, spiritually blind, easily
0.08 manipulated, and unable to hear the
0.08 shepherd with precision. Galatians 5:17
0.08 declares, "For the flesh sets its desire
0.08 against the spirit, and the spirit
0.08 against the flesh, for these are in
0.08 opposition to one another."
0.08 This tension is ongoing and it is
0.08 sharpened every time a believer chooses
0.08 the gratification of the body over
0.08 submission to the
0.08 spirit. Masturbation is not a neutral
0.08 act. It trains the mind to follow desire
0.08 rather than discipline. It rewires the
0.08 heart to crave pleasure over purity. In
0.08 doing so, it blurs the lines between
0.08 what is permissible and what is
0.08 beneficial. The result is spiritual fog.
0.08 Where once the believer could clearly
0.08 hear the Holy Spirit&;s prompting, now
0.08 there&;s confusion. Where there was once
0.08 clarity in decisionmaking, now there is
0.08 hesitation, doubt, and second-guessing.
0.08 That is not because God has stopped
0.08 speaking, it is because sin has turned
0.08 the volume down. In Hebrews 5:14 speaks
0.08 of those who have matured, saying, "But
0.08 solid food is for the mature, for those
0.08 who have their powers of discernment
0.08 trained by constant practice to
0.08 distinguish good from evil." Discernment
0.08 is not automatic. It is trained,
0.08 refined, and sharpened through
0.08 obedience. But when a believer gives
0.08 themselves over to lust, they are not
0.08 training their senses to know good and
0.08 evil. They are training their senses to
0.08 ignore the conviction of the Holy
0.08 Spirit. Each time they override that
0.08 inner voice, it gets
0.08 softer. Eventually, what once pierced
0.08 the heart now barely moves it. This is
0.08 how sin numbs
0.08 discernment. Through repeated
0.08 disobedience. Demons exploit this. They
0.08 know that when a believer can&;t tell the
0.08 difference between conviction and
0.08 condemnation or between a test and a
0.08 trap, they can easily be
0.08 manipulated. Discernment is spiritual
0.08 vision. It is what lets you see through
0.08 flattery, identify wolves in sheep&;s
0.08 clothing, detect false doctrine, and
0.08 sense spiritual danger before it
0.08 arrives. But when a believer is living
0.08 in secret sin, especially one fueled by
0.08 fantasy and lust, they lose the edge.
0.08 They may still be gifted, but they are
0.08 no longer
0.08 sensitive. They may still speak in
0.08 tongues, but they don&;t know when the
0.08 spirit has left the
0.08 room. This is a dangerous place to be,
0.08 to look alive on the outside, but be
0.08 blind on the inside. The devil does not
0.08 need to destroy you when he can simply
0.08 deceive you. And that deception often
0.08 enters through the senses. What you see,
0.08 what you imagine, what you
0.08 feel. Sexual sin, particularly in
0.08 isolation. It teaches the mind to
0.08 fantasize about unreality. It detaches
0.08 the person from relational and spiritual
0.08 awareness. Instead of being watchful and
0.08 sober minded, as 1 Peter 5&;8 commands,
0.08 the believer becomes dull, sleepy, and
0.08 unaware of the enemy&;s
0.08 strategies. Satan doesn&;t need to knock
0.08 on the front door when lust leaves the
0.08 back window
0.08 open. Over time, this compromised
0.08 discernment begins to affect every area
0.08 of life. The believer cannot tell when a
0.08 relationship is toxic. They misinterpret
0.08 divine delays as rejections. They chase
0.08 emotional experiences instead of
0.08 spiritual depth. They may even call the
0.08 flesh the spirit, confusing emotional
0.08 highs with God&;s presence. This is how
0.08 deception creeps in. Not all at once,
0.08 but gradually as the soul grows
0.08 accustomed to compromise and resistant
0.08 to correction. When discernment is
0.08 dulled, scripture is no longer alive.
0.08 The word is read without revelation. The
0.08 spirit speaks, but the heart is not
0.08 tuned in. A believer in this state
0.08 begins to rely more on logic than on
0.08 spiritual insight. They begin to follow
0.08 what feels right rather than what is
0.08 right. And eventually, they become more
0.08 susceptible to counterfeit voices,
0.08 dreams that are not from God, prophetic
0.08 words that are mixed with error, counsel
0.08 that aligns with fleshly desire instead
0.08 of godly wisdom. All of this stems from
0.08 one root, the loss of spiritual
0.08 sharpness through the undisiplined
0.08 gratification of the body. Masturbation
0.08 feeds that
0.08 loss. It is an act that trains the
0.08 person to disconnect spirit from body,
0.08 soul from truth. It thrives in secrecy.
0.08 And secrecy is the perfect breeding
0.08 ground for deception.
0.08 You cannot live in darkness and expect
0.08 to see clearly. The more a believer
0.08 gives in to hidden sin, the less capable
0.08 they become of identifying what is truly
0.08 from the Lord. Their heart becomes
0.08 divided. And Jesus said in Matthew
0.08 6:22, "If your eye is healthy, your
0.08 whole body will be full of light. But if
0.08 your eye is bad, your whole body will be
0.08 full of darkness."
0.08 That eye speaks of
0.08 perception. Your ability to see truth.
0.08 When that is corrupted, the entire inner
0.08 life is affected. What used to be
0.08 obvious red flags now seem
0.08 harmless. What used to trigger
0.08 conviction now feels
0.08 justifiable. This is the progressive
0.08 dulling of
0.08 discernment. It is not that God has
0.08 changed. It is that the believer has
0.08 distanced themselves from his voice
0.08 through repeated
0.08 compromise. Discernment cannot thrive in
0.08 a heart ruled by lust. It cannot coexist
0.08 with
0.08 double-mindedness. And the enemy knows
0.08 that a blind believer is no threat. One
0.08 of the most devastating consequences of
0.08 secret sin, particularly sexual sin like
0.08 masturbation, is the erosion of intimacy
0.08 with God.
0.08 This intimacy is not merely about
0.08 feelings or emotional closeness. It is
0.08 about a living, vibrant, ongoing
0.08 communion between the believer and the
0.08 Holy Spirit. It is about nearness,
0.08 clarity, and spiritual
0.08 connection. When that intimacy is
0.08 compromised, the Christian life becomes
0.08 dry, mechanical, and hollow. There may
0.08 still be outward devotion, church
0.08 attendance, Bible reading, service, but
0.08 inwardly the fire is
0.08 gone. The presence of God feels distant,
0.08 not because he has moved, but because
0.08 sin builds a wall.
0.08 Uh Isaiah 59:2 says plainly, "Your
0.08 iniquities have made a separation
0.08 between you and your God, and your sins
0.08 have hidden his face from you so that he
0.08 does not
0.08 hear." This is not a loss of salvation,
0.08 but a disruption of fellowship. Just as
0.08 unconfessed sin can damage a human
0.08 relationship, so too can it obstruct
0.08 communion with God.
0.08 The more a believer gives in to private
0.08 impurity, the more difficult it becomes
0.08 to enjoy the nearness of God. Prayer
0.08 becomes difficult. Worship becomes
0.08 superficial. The word seems closed. It
0.08 is not that God has withdrawn his love,
0.08 but that the heart has grown dull and
0.08 distant through
0.08 compromise. Sexual sin strikes at the
0.08 very core of relationship with God
0.08 because it involves the misuse of what
0.08 is sacred.
0.08 The body according to scripture is a
0.08 temple of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians
0.08 6:19. When a believer uses their body
0.08 for sin, they are desecrating the very
0.08 place where God dwells. This has
0.08 profound spiritual
0.08 consequences. Holiness is not about
0.08 legalism. It is about alignment. God is
0.08 holy and he draws near to those who
0.08 pursue him in purity.
0.08 Jesus said in Matthew 5&;8, "Blessed are
0.08 the pure in heart, for they shall see
0.08 God." When the heart is polluted with
0.08 lust, that sight becomes blurred. What
0.08 many do not realize is that intimacy
0.08 with God requires integrity. God desires
0.08 truth in the inward part. Psalm
0.08 51:6. He is not fooled by performance.
0.08 He sees the hidden life.
0.08 He sees the late night compromise. He
0.08 hears the silence that follows sin, the
0.08 avoidance, the guilt, the shame. And
0.08 while his mercy is always available,
0.08 intimacy cannot thrive in a heart that
0.08 continually chooses the flesh over the
0.08 spirit. The believer may still call on
0.08 his name, but the connection feels
0.08 strained. The
0.08 closeness they once enjoyed now feels
0.08 out of reach. Masturbation in particular
0.08 damages intimacy with God because it
0.08 turns the heart inward. It teaches the
0.08 soul to seek self-satisfaction over
0.08 surrender. It feeds secrecy. It builds
0.08 patterns of escapism. And over time,
0.08 those patterns begin to harden the
0.08 heart. What used to bring joy, quiet
0.08 time, prayer, the
0.08 word, now feels tired.
0.08 The conscience grows numb and the cycle
0.08 of guilt begins. The believer repents,
0.08 then relapses, then repents again. And
0.08 each time the shame runs
0.08 deeper. This constant cycle does not
0.08 draw them closer to God. It makes them
0.08 feel unworthy to approach him. Hebrews
0.08 10:22 exhorts us to draw near with a
0.08 true heart in full assurance of faith
0.08 with our hearts sprinkled clean from an
0.08 evil conscience and our bodies washed
0.08 with pure
0.08 water. But habitual sin corrupts the
0.08 conscience. It stirs inner
0.08 accusations. It fosters the lie that God
0.08 is disappointed, angry, or distant.
0.08 These lies grow louder the more one
0.08 indulges in the flesh.
0.08 And even though God&;s grace remains
0.08 constant, the believer stops believing
0.08 they are welcome in his presence. They
0.08 stop running to him and begin hiding
0.08 from him. This was the pattern from the
0.08 beginning. A Adam and Eve hid when they
0.08 sinned. And many believers do the same
0.08 today, not physically but
0.08 spiritually. Intimacy with God also
0.08 depends on the voice of the Holy Spirit.
0.08 But when sin is present, that voice is
0.08 grieved. Ephesians 4:30 says, "Do not
0.08 grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom
0.08 you were sealed for the day of
0.08 redemption. A grieved spirit is not a
0.08 silent spirit, but he speaks less. He
0.08 waits. He convicts, but he does not
0.08 force."
0.08 The believer who continually ignores
0.08 that conviction will eventually find
0.08 that voice fading into the background.
0.08 What once brought immediate correction
0.08 now goes
0.08 unchecked. And in that
0.08 silence, intimacy is lost. Furthermore,
0.08 intimacy with God requires surrender. It
0.08 thrives in a heart that longs for his
0.08 presence more than for personal
0.08 pleasure. But masturbation trains the
0.08 soul to pursue quick relief instead of
0.08 patient
0.08 abiding. It conditions the body to run
0.08 to fantasy instead of to the throne. It
0.08 undermines the very posture required for
0.08 intimacy, brokenness, humility, and
0.08 longing. David said in Psalm 27:4, "One
0.08 thing I have asked of the Lord, that
0.08 will I seek after, that I may dwell in
0.08 the house of the Lord all the days of my
0.08 life."
0.08 That kind of desire is incompatible with
0.08 a life of hidden
0.08 indulgence. Many believers feel this
0.08 loss but can&;t name it. They describe a
0.08 sense of dryness, distance, or lack of
0.08 hunger. They assume God has withdrawn or
0.08 that something is wrong with their
0.08 spirituality. In truth, it is often
0.08 unresolved impurity.
0.08 sin tolerated rather than confessed,
0.08 habits defended instead of crucified.
0.08 And until those areas are brought into
0.08 the light, intimacy remains stifled. The
0.08 tragedy is that many learn to live
0.08 without it. They become content with
0.08 routines, programs, and external
0.08 activity. But the spirit is not active
0.08 in
0.08 noise. He dwells in holy communion. He
0.08 fills the surrendered vessel. He
0.08 responds to the hungry
0.08 heart. But where the heart is divided,
0.08 intimacy cannot flourish.
0.08 Where sin is cherished, presence is
0.08 diminished.
